About Borealist
(pronounced bor-ay-el-list)
Yukoners like to buy and sell used stuff.
We're different up here - we're far from all the Outside stores and we like to reuse things. We deserve our own classifieds website, one that is made for Yukoners, and only Yukoners.
How is Borealist different?
Have you visited a generic classifieds website recently? Try to find what you're looking for in a sea of irrelevant, in-your-face advertisements. You're searching for a chainsaw or a pair of cross-country skis and the next thing you know you've signed up for a Bahamas vacation and a new Visa card.
Borealist keeps it clean and simple. We don't have any paid advertising at the moment. If we did, we would keep it relevant and local, supporting Yukon businesses.
Here are a few other key features of Borealist that sets us apart from the rest:
- Entertaining - commenting on a listing keeps things fun, lively, and entertaining.
- Anonymous - private messages means your contact information is never needed until the time of sale.
- Easy to use - our main goal is to make the website extremely user friendly.
- Browse faster - no need to click on a listing to view more details, it's all displayed right in front of you.
- Yukon local - all listings are only for the Yukon!
What does Borealist mean?
Borealist is a play on the word borealis, the Latin word for
northern, like aurora borealis (northern lights). The
t at the end is for
list, since this is a classifieds listing website.
Is it free to post listings?
Yes. Yes. Yes. All you need to do is sign up, which is also free.
Can I advertise my business on Borealist?
